The film plane on a camera is the space where light is recorded and these compositions of light demonstrate my devotion to what gets composed on the film plane and by extension, what you see here. Along with that, I’ve had to consciously turn my own film plane away from stunning views above and take notice of the ground below, finding texture, color, shape and shadow to create frames of a more artistic bent. This collection of postcards includes shutter releases of those compositions, including the yellow lichen of the San Rafael Swell, the silt of the Carbon River of Mount Rainier, weeping in the Narrows of Zion Canyon, and a wonderful portal from the Colorado Plateau (look closely for the turquoise lichen within).
